Welcome to Not Just Nazis, a German history blog! As the name suggests, this blog is particularly intended to expand the horizon of German history beyond the twelve-year period of the Third Reich. Nazism and its dark shadow in German history will receive its due, of course, but so too will the many other eras, topics, questions, and concerns that animate the history of German-speaking Europe. In addition, there will be occasional blog posts on academia, higher education, pedagogy, writing, and research.
